Education

25 years of civil war, drought and famine undermined the education system of Gedo region, especially Garbahare district. Garbahare district needs education reform and sustainable education projects such as full time paid teachers, teacher training and improvements on the aged school buildings. Currently there are about 24 schools in the district and surrounding villages only 4 schools are secondary and there are about 5000 students enrolled in these schools. Therefore we are advocating establishing Vocational Technical Institute (VTI) of Garbahare for adults and the future graduates of the current grade schools.
